How many sessions does it take to complete the process?
It varies with the individual. Typically it takes five sessions.
Does everyone have a passion?
Yes! Passion is a quality of your life energy. Think of your passion as the motivating force within you to consciously express your unique gifts in your life and career.
What if my passion doesn't make sense or seems unrealistic?
Probably you're taking your passion too literally. Your passion is not an activity like golf or cooking, nor a fancy sports car as the TV ads would have you believe, but rather the motivating energy underlying activities and things that you enjoy.
When your mind senses this energy, it looks into its memory of stored experiences from the physical world and makes a match. Most of the time it makes this match without you being consciously aware of it. Thus what you think of as your passion is probably only a subconscious guess, a clue to the true essence of your passion.
How do I figure out what that clue means?
As an example, my hobby as a youngster was gardening. Growing up in New York City, the nursery business hardly seemed a realistic career possibility. If I ask myself what the energy underlying my love of gardening is, I would say it's my fascination with how life grows. Consistent with this energy, as a counselor I work with clients who want to "grow" in their careers. Nursery management and career counseling -- seemingly unrelated -- and yet for me, my love of growing plants proved to be an important clue in understanding my passion.
